Recap: Sarasota Sailors vs. Southeast Seminoles
The Sarasota Sailors can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Southeast 66-27 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-15.
Sarasota got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sofi Miller out in front who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Miller hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssia Bane, who scored 12 points along with eight steals.
Southeast's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyra Griggs, who scored six points.
Sarasota is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Southeast, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Sarasota on the road again on Thursday and play against Booker at 7:30 p.m. on January 18th. Booker is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. Southeast won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Varsity Opponent has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 15.
