Softball Recap: Tully Takes a Loss

If Tully was feeling good fresh off their 13-5 takedown of Pulaski on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Black Knights took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cato-Meridian Blue Devils on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Black Knights of the 21-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Tully dropped their record down to 6-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cato-Meridian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Tully didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-5 win against Bishop Grimes on the 22nd. As for Cato-Meridian, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against South Lewis at 6:00 p.m. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.42 runs per game on average), something the Blue Devils will no doubt try to take advantage of.
