Soccer Game Preview: Sandy Valley vs. West Muskingum

Sandy Valley hasn't had much luck against West Muskingum recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cardinals will head out on the road to take on the Tornadoes at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Sandy Valley saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came out on top against East Liverpool by a score of 3-1.

Meanwhile, West Muskingum got the win against Philo on Thursday by a conclusive 8-1. Considering West Muskingum have won nine contests by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Philo from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Dyllan Farmer led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

The victory made it two in a row for West Muskingum and bumps their season record up to 13-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those two matches. As for Sandy Valley, their record is now 9-4-3.

Sandy Valley couldn't quite get it done against West Muskingum in their previous meeting back in August as they fell 2-0. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
