Basketball Recap: Merrill Takes a Loss

Merrill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 72-37 loss at the hands of the Michigan Lutheran Seminary Cardinals. The Vandals were down 54-34 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Logan Broekhuizen was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 9 on his way to 17 points for Michigan Lutheran Seminary. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Scharrer, who posted seven points.

Merrill's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Michigan Lutheran Seminary, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.

Merrill will be playing in front of their home fans against Breckenridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Michigan Lutheran Seminary, they will challenge Hemlock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Michigan Lutheran Seminary is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.
