Basketball Recap: Jordan Hansley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pender over East Bladen

Pender lost against East Bladen back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pender Patriots took a hard 66-47 fall against the East Bladen Eagles.

Pender's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordan Hansley, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Hansley a new career-high in blocks (two). Malcolm Driver was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

Pender's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for East Bladen, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-6.

Pender wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-50 victory against Red Springs on the 6th. As for East Bladen, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Heide Trask at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in East Bladen's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
