It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mariner had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Fort Myers Green Wave by a score of 19-8. The victory was familiar territory for the Tritons, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Mariner didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off six passes before the game was over. Trinity Pierini led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself. Gabriella Silva got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Mariner's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Fort Myers, they moved to 5-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Mariner will square off against North Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Tritons 2.7, the Red Knights 4.4) so any points scored will be well earned. Fort Myers does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
