Softball Recap: Erie-Prophetstown Victorious

Erie-Prophetstown proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by six) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Hall Red Devils 4-3. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won eight in a row.

Ayden Klendworth looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ellah Brooks, who earned two runs and three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Ava Grawe was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

Erie-Prophetstown hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in eight consecutive matches.

Erie-Prophetstown's record now sits at 12-9. As for Hall, they dropped their record down to 4-20 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Coming up, Erie-Prophetstown will square off against Orion at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers are facing the Chargers at the right time seeing as the Chargers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
