Softball Recap: Slaton Comes Up Short

If Slaton was feeling good fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Idalou last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Slaton Tigers took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Muleshoe Mules on Monday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mules apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Slaton's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Muleshoe, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

The future could be bright for both Slaton and Muleshoe: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Slaton will try to hand Roosevelt their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Muleshoe will look to extend Dimmitt's four-game losing streak when they meet at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
