Soccer Recap: Girard Comes Up Short

Girard managed to keep up with McDowell until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Yellowjackets lost 5-0 to the Trojans. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, Girard's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Girard has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season. As for McDowell, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Girard will face off against Fairview at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McDowell, they will challenge Cathedral Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
