Baseball Recap: Brandeis Find Success

Canyon Lake typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Brandeis proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Canyon Lake.

Chrystian Ramirez looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tanner Hallmark, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Grayson Hallmark was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Brandeis has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. Canyon Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brandeis will challenge Johnson at 1:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Brandeis' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Johnson's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Canyon Lake, they will take on Crystal City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
