Basketball Recap: Platte County Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Platte County entered their contest against Ruskin on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Platte County Pirates took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ruskin Golden Eagles. The Pirates were probably out for revenge after losing 73-70 to them when the teams met back in February of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Platte County's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4. As for Ruskin, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.

Platte County will face off against Pembroke Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ruskin, it'll be Battle of the Birds when the Ruskin Golden Eagles challenge the Grain Valley Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ruskin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Grain Valley likes a good challenge.
