Basketball Recap: Martinsville Comes Up Short

Martinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hargrave Military Academy Tigers.

Martinsville now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Hargrave Military Academy, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 10-9.

Martinsville and Hargrave Military Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Martinsville (ranked 126th) will meet Bassett (ranked 260th) at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Similarly, Hargrave Military Academy will square off against Magna Vista at 8:00 p.m. on Friday up 251 places (81 vs. 332).
