Baseball Recap: Woodland Regional Takes a Loss

Monday just wasn't the day for Woodland Regional's offense. They lost 8-0 to the Torrington Raiders on Monday. Hawks fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Raiders since on Monday.

Woodland Regional saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Landrigan, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Woodland Regional and nudges their season record down to 7-10. As for Torrington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

While Woodland Regional had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
