Recap: Iowa Valley Tigers vs. Clarksville Indians

On Friday, The Iowa Valley Tigers faced the Clarksville Indians in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Iowa Valley took a serious blow against Clarksville, falling 50-8. The low total for Iowa Valley limited their streak of high-flying scores to three in a row.

Nolan Kriegel picked up 27 receiving yards and a touchdown. Caleb Haack was his top target, picking up 49 receiving yards.

Clarksville was led to victory by Owen Backer and Makade Bloker. Backer rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries, while Bloker rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Bloker was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards.

The team's defense also helped out by holding Iowa Valley to a paltry 204 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Clarksville's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. The heavy lifting was done by Rex Ross and Bodhi Ellerman who racked up four sacks between them.

Iowa Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Clarksville, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Iowa Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Clarksville will square off against Gladbrook-Reinbeck at TBD on Friday. Gladbrook-Reinbeck is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
