Soccer Game Preview: Roosevelt vs. Pinkston

Roosevelt hasn't had much luck against Pinkston recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Roosevelt Mustangs will challenge the Pinkston Vikings at 8:00 p.m.

Roosevelt fell victim to Lincoln and their airtight defense on Saturday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 1-0. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Pinkston, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over A Plus Academy on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Vikings' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 516th, while the Knights are ranked 222nd).

Daniel Romero and Jose Joel Rangel scored both of Pinkston's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 13 goals.

The victory got Pinkston back to even at 4-4-1. As for Roosevelt, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Roosevelt suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Pinkston when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Roosevelt avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
