Softball Recap: Lone Jack Drops Highest Score of Season Against Wellington-Napoleon

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lone Jack). Everything went their way against the Wellington-Napoleon Tigers on Monday as they made off with an 18-3 win. The Mules have beaten the Tigers the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Lone Jack got a massive performance out of Sophia Randolph, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave Randolph a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Evenson, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

Lone Jack was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Lone Jack's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Wellington-Napoleon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Lone Jack will take on La Monte at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wellington-Napoleon, they will square off against Santa Fe at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chiefs will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
