Softball Recap: Perry Central Comes Up Short

Perry Central and Southeast Lauderdale squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Perry Central had to settle for second. They fell 12-7 to the Tigers. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Kaitlyn Ruffin was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Peyton Merrill, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Perry Central's loss dropped their record down to 13-11-1. As for Southeast Lauderdale, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-17.

While Perry Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Friday.
