Recap: Seguin Matadors vs. Smithson Valley Rangers
The Seguin Matadors fell victim to the Smithson Valley Rangers''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were dealt a 56-0 loss at the hands of the Rangers. Seguin just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Corey Dailey threw for 173 yards on 17 of 28 attempts. Creed Weaver was his top target, picking up 119 receiving yards. On the ground, John Jackson rushed for 84 yards.
Seguin has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Smithson Valley, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Seguin does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Smithson Valley will face off against Georgetown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Georgetown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Smithson Valley is ranked 55th).
