Preview: Airport Eagles vs. Brookland-Cayce Bearcats
Airport is 9-1 against Brookland-Cayce since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Airport Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. Airport is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
Last Tuesday, Airport was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-38 to Silver Bluff.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Angel Mayes, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Santana Reese, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Brookland-Cayce was beaten by Silver Bluff 49-21 on Wednesday.
Airport's victory bumped their season record to 4-3 while Silver Bluff's loss dropped theirs to 2-1.
Everything went Airport's way against Brookland-Cayce in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as Airport made off with a 42-19 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Airport since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
