Softball Recap: Winchester Takes a Loss

Winchester came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 16-4 to the Reading Memorial Rockets. The loss continues a trend for the Red & Black in their meetings with the Rockets: they've now lost eight in a row.

Winchester saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna D'Antonio, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Another was Julia Legere, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Winchester's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Reading Memorial, their victory was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winchester will challenge Somerville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Reading Memorial, they will face off against Belmont at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
