The Okeechobee Brahmans will square off against the Sebastian River Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Okeechobee will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Okeechobee is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Heritage. The victory continues a trend for the Brahmans in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.
Okeechobee got a great performance from Aaron White as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. White has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Carsen Williams was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Bradyn Lineberry was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
Okeechobee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Heritage only posted a batting average of .050.
Meanwhile, Sebastian River beat South Fork 9-6 on Wednesday.
Peyton Landers was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). Landers was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
In other batting news, Jake Cavill was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Glenn Truex, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI.
Sebastian River now has a winning record of 10-9-1. As for Okeechobee, their win bumped their record up to 16-6.
Okeechobee's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. The Brahmans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Sebastian River, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Okeechobee continue to outrun the ball?
Okeechobee got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Sebastian River by a conclusive 13-3 score. Will the Brahmans repeat their success, or do the Sharks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
