Basketball Recap: San Elizario Comes Up Short

After flying high against Immanuel Christian last Friday, San Elizario came back down to earth. The San Elizario Eagles fell just short of the Clint Lions by a score of 25-22 on Tuesday. The Eagles have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Anabella Portillo was the offensive standout of the matchup as she went 5 for 12 on her way to 10 points and eight rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games she's played.

San Elizario's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Clint, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Mountain View the next time they take the court. San Elizario will host Mountain View at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Clint will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 14th.
