Volleyball Recap: Madelene Braathen and Emma Braathen Secure Win for York

It's playoff time, and York had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Riverside-Brookfield Bulldogs 2-1 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dukes also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was York who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-21, 21-25, 25-21.

Leading York to victory were Emma Braathen and Madelene Braathen. Emma had 16 digs and four assists, while Madelene had seven assists and five digs. That's the most assists Emma has posted over her last six contests.

The win snapped York's losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 24-12 record. As for Riverside-Brookfield, their loss dropped their record down to 20-15.

York has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Lyons on the 30th. Riverside-Brookfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
