Basketball Recap: Lucas Bustamante Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Cristo Rey St. Martin

Schaumburg Christian's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They managed a 65-61 victory over the Cristo Rey St. Martin CRSM.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Schaumburg Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucas Bustamante, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 24 points along with six boards and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanish Dundi, who posted 18 points.

Schaumburg Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Cristo Rey St. Martin, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Schaumburg Christian will face off against Harvest Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cristo Rey St. Martin, they will square off against Round Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cristo Rey St. Martin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Round Lake likes a good challenge.
