Rowan County came tearing into  Saturday's  game with 16 straight wins  (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with  a   9-5  victory over the Johnson Central Golden Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  11-8  back in March.
 Kassi Perkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned  (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.
 At the plate, Rowan County got a  massive  performance out of  Malana Hamm, who  went 4-for-5 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run. Those  four  hits gave  Hamm a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lauryn Eastham, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with two  RBI and one  run.
 Rowan County was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .421. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Johnson Central only posted a  batting average of  .250.
Rowan County's win bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Johnson Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-8.
 Looking ahead, Rowan County will take on Warren East at 1:30  p.m.  on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Vikings 2.9, the Raiders 3.1) so any  runs scored will be well earned. As for Johnson Central, they will challenge Harrison County at 1:30  p.m.  on Saturday. The Thorobreds/Fillies' pitching crew has only allowed 1.6  runs per game  this season, so the Golden Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
