Volleyball Recap: Conard Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Conard is still undefeated this season after their contest against Maloney on Thursday, but Maloney came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Red Wolves came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 on May 12th.

Conard took Maloney into a fifth set where they got it done with a seven-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-16, 23-25, 16-25, 15-8.

Conard's offense was headlined by Aidan P and Tyler R, who picked up 15 kills apiece. They got some help from Lucas H and his 50 assists. He was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Despite the loss, Maloney still got an impressive performance from Abdiel Cividanes, who had 20 digs.

Conard's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-0. As for Maloney, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conard will welcome Ridgefield on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, Maloney and East Hartford will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
