After a string of three wins, Elbert County's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 69-57 to the Hart County Bulldogs. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 71-53.

When it comes to explaining why Elbert County lost, don't look at Grady Jones. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dealyn Gray, who posted six points.

Elbert County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Hart County, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3.

Elbert County will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Oglethorpe County at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Hart County and Lovett will round out the year against one another at at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Lovett knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Hart County likes a good challenge.
