After a string of eight wins, Shelby's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost 9-3 to the Lexington Minutemen. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Whippets have suffered since March 29th.

Karlie Walp was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times she's played.

Shelby's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Lexington, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

When Shelby and Lexington next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Whippets will challenge Highland and their five-game winning streak at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lexington will try to stop Madison Comprehensive's eight-game winning streak when they meet at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
