Volleyball Recap: Pine View Gets the Win

Pine View won the last time they faced Hurricane and things went their way on Thursday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

While Pine View might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Hurricane scored at least 21 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 22-25, 25-22, 26-24.

Luke Luekenga paced Pine View's offense, picking up 18 kills. Luekenga got some help from Preston Twede and his 51 assists. Brock Swensen controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Despite the loss, Hurricane still got an impressive performance from Afton Wadsworth, who had 20 digs and three aces. Wadsworth is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 13 or more in each of the last three games he's played.

Pine View's win bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Hurricane, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-9.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Pine View will face off against rival Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hurricane is set to square off against their familiar foe Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
