Soccer Game Preview: Jonesville vs. Jackson Christian

The Jonesville Comets will square off against the Jackson Christian Royals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Jonesville has given up an average of 4.9 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Jackson Christian will have to contend with a Jonesville team hungry for a victory, something the squad hasn't seen yet this season. Jonesville lost 8-0 to Leslie on Friday. While losing is never fun, Jonesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Leslie are ranked 107th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jackson Christian). They came out on top in a nail-biter against Springport on Monday, sneaking past 6-5.

Jonesville's loss dropped their record down to 0-6-2. As for Jackson Christian, the win got them back to even at 4-4-1.

Jonesville took their victory against Jackson Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 5-0 score. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
