Soccer Recap: Crystal River Comes Up Short

Crystal River managed to keep up with Hudson until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Crystal River Pirates came up short against the Hudson Cobras, falling 5-2. The Pirates' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Madden Verlato wasn't going to let Hudson walk away unscathed as he scored both of Crystal River's goals, bringing his season total up to five goals.

Crystal River's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Hudson, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3-3 record this season.

Crystal River has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Bell on the 10th. As for Hudson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Angeline Academy of Innovation on the 9th.
