Basketball Recap: Clintonville Comes Up Short

Clintonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 84-58 to the Denmark Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Truckers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 422nd, while the Vikings are ranked 186th).

Denmark's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sean Malay led the charge by going 6 for 8 en route to 15 points and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Lemke, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 17 points and five assists.

Clintonville's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Denmark, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Clintonville has already played their next game (against Bonduel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Denmark didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 91-74 defeat against Southern Door on the 20th.
