Longmont is a perfect 4-0 against Skyline since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Trojans will challenge the Falcons at 12:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Longmont and six for Skyline.

Longmont came up short against Niwot on Thursday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Trojans have suffered against the Cougars since November 10, 2018.

Longmont was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-12, 25-23.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Skyline faced off against Broomfield on Thursday. The Falcons fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2.

Skyline took Broomfield into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-16, 25-27, 25-22, 15-12.

Skyline's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Longmont, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Longmont was able to grind out a solid victory over Skyline when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
