Volleyball Recap: Boone Takes a Loss

Boone managed to slip by Harmony the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Braves came up short against the Longhorns on Monday, falling 3-0. The Braves' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

While Boone ultimately came up short, they really made Harmony work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 28-26, 25-19.

Despite the loss, Boone still got an impressive performance from Ian Vega, who had 12 assists and five digs. Vega is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 12 or more in each of the last three games he's played. Jonah Folks also deserves some recognition as he had his first kill of the season.

Harmony can attribute much of their success to Cesar Gandia, who had eight digs and two aces. What's more, Gandia posted three assists, the most he's had since back in March.

Boone's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Harmony, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Boone didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Cypress Creek on the 22nd. As for Harmony, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Innovation on the 22nd.
