Basketball Recap: Liberty Tree Academy Comes Up Short

Liberty Tree Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Scottsbluff Bearcats, falling 101-12. While losing is never fun, the War Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 282nd in Colorado, while the Bearcats are ranked 21st in Nebraska).

Scottsbluff's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tre Boswell, who went 8 of 11 en route to 22 points. Boswell is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Keon Delgado, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points and seven boards.

Liberty Tree Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Scottsbluff, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.

Liberty Tree Academy has already played their next matchup, a 97-39 defeat against Chadron on the 31st. As for Scottsbluff, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 73-39 victory against Gering on the 31st.
