Football Recap: Winter Springs Bears vs. Celebration Storm

On Friday, the Winter Springs Bears didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the Celebration Storm, but they still walked away with a 19-14 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bears.

A big part of the victory came down to the chemistry between Makiye Mcburse and his top target Tristen Raines. Mcburse threw for 186 yards and two touchdowns while Raines gained 105 total yards and two touchdowns. A healthy portion of that aerial production (113 yards to be exact) went to Johan Torres.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Winter Springs' defense and their three sacks. Jorden Federick was especially locked on to Celebration's QB and sacked him twice. Federick's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks and making three total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Winter Springs' win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-0. As for Celebration, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Winter Springs will head out on the road to square off against Cocoa Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Celebration, their homestand will continue as they prepare to take on Lake Region at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
