Baseball Recap: Malone Comes Up Short

Malone lost to Vernon back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers came up short against the Yellowjackets, falling 12-2. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly ten runs.

Malone saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christian Morales, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Morales is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Malone and nudges their season record down to 9-5. As for Vernon, they moved to 11-10 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Coming up, Malone will head out to face off against Pensacola at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Malone's pitchers better be ready for this one: Pensacola has averaged an impressive 10.7 runs per game this season. As for Vernon, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Paxton at 4:00 p.m.
