Softball Recap: White Pine Gets the Win

With a playoff win on the line, White Pine rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lincoln County Lynx, sneaking past 5-4. The victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Lynx: they've now won six in a row.

Paige Hayward spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits.

On the hitting side, Camden Johnson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Layla Ruesch, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

White Pine's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Lincoln County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-15.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. White Pine is set to face off against their familiar foe Needles at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lincoln County will take on rival Lake Mead Christian Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
