Preview: Chatfield Chargers vs. Grandview Wolves
Two dominant signal callers in Jake Jones and Liam Szarka are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Chatfield Chargers are on the road again on Friday and play against the Grandview Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Chatfield rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against Arapahoe by a score of 28-21.
Jones was his usual excellent self, throwing for 261 yards and a touchdown, while also punching in two touchdowns on the ground. Drew Rohlman also helped out with an impressive 90 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Grandview faced Regis Jesuit in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Grandview came out on top in a nail-biter against Regis Jesuit on Friday and snuck past 25-23. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Grandview.
It was another big night for Szarka, who rushed for 59 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 174 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Chatfield is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Grandview, their win bumped their record up to 8-4.
