Volleyball Game Preview: Cathedral Catholic Dons vs. Classical Academy Caimans

The Cathedral Catholic Dons will square off against the Classical Academy Caimans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cathedral Catholic heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Tuesday. They fell just short of Canyon Crest Academy by a score of 3-2. The Dons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cathedral Catholic took Canyon Crest Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-16, 20-25, 22-25, 25-13, 16-14.

Meanwhile, Classical Academy came up short against Torrey Pines on Tuesday and fell 3-1. While the Caimans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 25-19 in the first set.

Classical Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-17.

Cathedral Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Classical Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 23-12.

Cathedral Catholic suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Classical Academy in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Dons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
