The biggest upset of the week belonged to South San Francisco, who took down 229th ranked Menlo, 43-39.
The Warriors moved up to 394 from 589 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Peninsula - Ocean. South San Francisco was able to make the jump by topping the Knights 43-39.
Menlo's dynamic duo of Jack Heneghan and Connor Stastny proved tough for Frank Moro's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Heneghan threw for 355 yards and three touchdowns and Stastny had 110 yards receiving. Connor Paterson helped Menlo's passing attack out by catching five balls for 88 yards.
Mike Taylor was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 97 yards as Sequoia fell to the Warriors. Dylan Anderson also contributed to the rushing game with 53 yards on the ground.
Derek Friske made the biggest impact on defense this week as King's Academy defeated Woodside. The sophomore pulled down two interceptions.
The Knights' Heneghan and Stastny have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Heneghan has thrown for 1168 yards this season, while Stastny has 27 catches for 493 yards. The Cherokee's Taylor leads the league in rushing yards with 533.
A big matchup in Peninsula - Ocean this week will be when Sequoia takes on the Wildcats. As it stands, Rob Poulos' team is in first, while Woodside is in fourth.
The Knights and Josh Bowie's team played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Knights eventually emerging with a 9-6 victory. Jose Plancarte threw for 150 yards and ran for 33 yards in the win.
