Basketball Recap: St. John Lutheran Comes Up Short

St. John Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Taylor Wildcats and fell 62-28. The Saints were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.

Despite the loss, St. John Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jesse Williams posted eight points and 13 boards.

Taylor's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jace Harcus led the charge by going 7 of 8 on his way to 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Harcus a new career-high in shooting accuracy (88%). James Thomas was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

St. John Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Taylor, their record is now 14-6.

St. John Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-23 loss against Seven Rivers Christian on the 5th. As for Taylor, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-26 win against Angeline Academy of Innovation on the 3rd.
