Softball Recap: Monroe Academy Comes Up Short

If Monroe Academy was feeling good fresh off their 10-3 takedown of Snook Christian Academy last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Monroe Academy Volunteers came up short against the Fort Dale Academy Eagles on Monday, falling 10-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Volunteers of the 12-11 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Mia Ramer made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Prine, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Monroe Academy fell to 2-1. As for Fort Dale Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Monroe Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Central at 5:30 p.m. on March 10th. As for Fort Dale Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Crenshaw Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. Fort Dale Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
