The Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus Tigers will square off against the Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus easily dispatched Rise Kohyang two weeks ago, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Tigers fell just short of Los Angeles Leadership Academy by a score of 7-5 last Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Conaty-Loretto). Everything went their way against Serra last Thursday as they made off with a 26-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won seven contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Kaylee Parra and Giselle Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Parra tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Garcia pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Parra has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in nine consecutive appearances. At bat, Parra went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Garcia went 4-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most hits Parra has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Bishop Conaty-Loretto got a massive performance out of Heather Salvador, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Salvador a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaylah Araujo, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Bishop Conaty-Loretto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Camino Nuevo Dalzell Lance Campus' loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Bishop Conaty-Loretto, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
