Softball Recap: Lowell Comes Up Short

Lowell fell victim to Hanover Central and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 6-2 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

This is the second loss in a row for Lowell and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Hanover Central, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Lowell will host Fishers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Red Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Hanover Central, they will face off against Hobart at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Brickies have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
