            Basketball Recap: Newark Catholic Green Wave vs. Waterford Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            After flying high against Ridgedale  last Saturday, Newark Catholic came back down to earth. 2025 welcomed the Newark Catholic Green Wave with  a  57-32 loss courtesy of the Waterford Wildcats on Saturday. The Green Wave were probably out for revenge after losing  53-42 to them when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 Several Green Wave players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Fini Kaiser, who  posted ten points and five  rebounds.
Newark Catholic has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost three of their last four games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record  this season. As for Waterford, their record is now 11-1.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newark Catholic will welcome Mt. Vernon  at 7:15  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Waterford, they will look to defend their home court  on Thursday against Federal Hocking  at 7:00  p.m. One thing working in Federal Hocking's favor is that they have posted at least 55  points  every time they've taken the court this season.
