Volleyball Recap: Friendswood Has No Trouble Against Iowa Colony

Friendswood won the last time they faced Iowa Colony and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs blew past the Pioneers 3-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Friendswood walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-17, 25-12.

Ashley Adams was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 16 assists and five digs. That's the most assists she has posted over her last 21 games. Kaylee Odom also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Friendswood was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Iowa Colony only served four aces.

Despite the defeat, Iowa Colony saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Layla Gamez had 11 digs and one assist.

Friendswood's victory bumped their record up to 22-7. As for Iowa Colony, the loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 13-13.

Friendswood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against La Porte on the 9th. As for Iowa Colony, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Texas City on the 9th.
