Recap: La Plata Warriors vs. St. Charles
The La Plata Warriors suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by St. Charles 67-14. La Plata was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-9.
It was another big night for McKenzie Thomas, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds for St. Charles. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Thomas has scored at least a third of St. Charles' points. London Horne was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
La Plata's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for St. Charles, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
La Plata will take on Leonardtown at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Leonardtown presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than La Plata in Maryland (Leonardtown is ranked 83rd, while La Plata is ranked 214th). As for St. Charles, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Great Mills at 6:30 p.m.
