Basketball Recap: Gwinn Takes a Loss

Gwinn lost against Ishpeming back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Gwinn Modeltowners lost to the Ishpeming Hematites at home by a 63-47 margin.

Gwinn's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Ishpeming, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gwinn will face off against West Iron County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Gwinn is facing West Iron County at the right time seeing as West Iron County is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Ishpeming, they will challenge Gladstone at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ishpeming knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Gladstone likes a good challenge.
