The result was an unpleasant reminder to Elyria Catholic of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Elyria Catholic's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3-2. As for Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4-2.
